How we're organised

Office of the General Manager

The units and departments through which the Authority delivers water and wastewater services across the three islands.

Communications Unit
  • Identification of public relations and communications opportunities and challenges, and recommendation of action.
  • Management and implementation of approved approaches and policies, internally and externally.
  • Responsible for the management of NAWASA’s legal affairs, including debt collection, lease and sale transactions, and civil litigation.
  • Advises management and the Board of Directors on matters of corporate and legal responsibility and provides legal opinions.

Responsible for the strategic and operational management of NAWASA’s information and technology needs, including the implementation and integration of systems and technology initiatives necessary to achieve organisational goals. Areas of responsibility include:

  • Information Systems: Designing, documenting, maintaining, evaluating, supporting and implementing information systems applications, and providing problem resolution.
  • Computer and Network Systems: Planning, designing, implementing, analysing and reviewing computer and network systems.
  • Documentation Centre and ArchivesCapturing, storing, classifying, indexing, versioning, maintaining, securing, retaining and retrieving documents and records.
  • Appointment and placement of staff.
  • Employee compensation and benefits.
  • Training and staff development.
  • Industrial relations and labour law.
  • Operation and maintenance of the transmission and distribution network.
  • Water truck delivery.
  • Leak detection.
  • Task force, after-hours response.
  • Masonry activity.
  • Meter installation, testing and repair.
  • Production of water from all sources of supply, surface water and groundwater.
  • Operation and maintenance of the two municipal wastewater systems, Grand Anse and St. George’s.
  • Pump and electromechanical support.
  • Quality control and laboratory.
  • Grounds maintenance staff.
  • Planning, design and construction of all capital works.
  • Land surveying, mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS) management of the Authority’s infrastructure.
  • Water resources data collection and monitoring of selected raw water sources.
  • Accounting: Accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, stores and inventory.
  • Customer Services: Receipt, management and resolution of customer problems.
  • Commercial UnitBilling, including meter readings, asset protection, financial management and customer accounts.
