What the project involves

Crews are replacing ageing pipe along the Concord main road with new ductile-iron mains. The work is being carried out in sections so that the road stays passable and supply interruptions are kept as short as possible. Each length of new pipe is pressure-tested and flushed before it is brought into service.

Why it is needed

The old mains along this route had reached the end of their service life and were a frequent source of leaks and low pressure. Replacing them reduces water lost to leakage, steadies pressure for households further along the line, and cuts the number of unplanned interruptions the area has seen in recent years.

What customers can expect while it is underway

Residents in the affected sections may notice short, planned interruptions to supply while pipe is connected, along with temporary traffic management on the main road. Interruptions are scheduled during off-peak hours where possible, and affected areas are notified in advance through the service-updates page and local notices.
